Assessment 1: Favorite Pages
(50 points)
After creating a Favorite Page by following the Level 1 instructions, you will create
another Favorite Page, similar to the one you created in Level 1. You will create the
page with KompoZer, and it will have an image, heading text, and body text. Then you
will submit your WebDesign folder with both Web pages to your instructor.
Instructions
1. Make sure the Favorite Page you created in Level 1 meets the criteria in the
Level 1 grading rubric.
-
Then, make a new page about another of your favorite things, using the following
instructions:-
Plan the new page. Choose a simple topic that will only take one page to
cover. You will need one image for the page. Use the Finding_Images
document to help you find an image. -
Make a folder named Level1B in your WebDesign folder.
-
Open KompoZer, and save a new page into your Level1B folder. Give the
page a title that is descriptive, and give it a file name of index.html.
-
Add the Level1B folder to the Site Manager.
-
Set a background color.
-
Add heading text and body text.
-
Format the text font, size, and color.
-
Copy and paste the image for the page into the Level1B folder.
-
Resize the image so the height and width are approximately 300-600
pixels, and the resolution is 72 ppi. -
Optimize the image as a JPEG to approximately 30KB in file size.
-
Add the image to the page.
-
Test the site in a Web browser.
-
Make sure the page meets the criteria in the Level 1B grading rubric.
-
-
Zip and submit your WebDesign folder to your instructor. TIP: See the zip
instructions at the end of this document for help.
